Tonya Harris is the communications manager for the Council of the Great City Schools. She serves as the Council's webmaster as well as the associate editor for the award-winning Urban Educator newsletter. Prior to joining the Council, Harris served as the public relations assistant for Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, the largest African-American women’s organization in the country. Earlier, she was an editorial assistant at CQ Weekly, a national publication covering public policy and legislation. Harris holds a master's degree in interactive journalism from American University in Washington, D.C., and a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Maryland, College Park.
